Phèn chua (Alum) được sử dụng để xử lý vải hoặc giấy trước khi in thủy ấn họa (Marbling), để đảm bảo màu được chuyển rõ ràng, bám nhanh và bền hơn.

Hướng dẫn sử dụng

• Xử lý vải: Hòa tan 10 g phèn chua với 3.79l nước ấm. Giặt sơ nếu cần (không dùng với nước xả). Ngâm ngập vải vào dung dịch trong 20p. Vắt và phơi khô. Dùng nhiệt độ thấp nếu cần ủi thẳng vải.
• Xử lý giấy: Hòa tan 10 g phèn chua với 0.95l nước ấm. Xịt phun sương hoặc dùng bọt biển thoa đều lớp mỏng dung dịch phèn chua lên mặt giấy. Chờ khô hoàn toàn.
• Giấy/vải đã qua xử lý nên sử dụng ngay trong vòng 2 ngày.
• Cảnh báo an toàn: Không được nuốt. Rửa ngay với nước nếu dính vào mắt. Tránh xa tầm tay trẻ em.

Alum is used to pretreat fabric or paper before marbling to ensure that designs transfer clearly. It is also used as a mordant with some natural dyes.

Instructions

• For Fabric Marbling: Dissolve 2 teaspoons/10 grams of Alum in 1 gal/3.79 L of warm water. Immerse fabric in solution until wet, wring out (do not rinse) and let air dry. Fabric will be ready to marble when dry, and it may be ironed before marbling.
• For Paper Marbling: Dissolve 2 teaspoons/10 grams of Alum in 1 qt/0.95 L of water. Spray or sponge on the solution to lightly coat the paper. Let dry completely before marbling.
• Paper/fabric after pretreat should be used within 2 days.
• CAUTION: Keep dyes, paints and chemicals away from children. Avoid unnecessary contact. Do not ingest.
