• Hình ảnh thực vật luôn là chủ đề thơ ca phổ biến trong lịch sử của người Nhật, cũng là chủ đề chính cho dòng mực Sailor Manyo, dòng mục được tạo ra dựa trên những loài hoa và cây cối nổi tiếng được nhắc đến trong Manyoshi, tuyển tập thơ về hơn 160 loài thực vật và 50 loài hoa khác nhau tại đất nước mặt trời mọc.
• Mực có khả năng tạo ra 2 tone sắc khác nhau (dual-tone shading) dựa vào mật độ cao thấp khác nhau của mực trên giấy khi viết.
