Raphael d'Artigny brushes are used and recognised internationally as their natural “fine white” hog bristles are strictly selected for their origin and undergo rigorous preparation. These natural multiple-fag fibers help the paint penetrate the surface. They are rigid, therefore ideal for thick paint and impasto work. They keep their natural shape very well and are extremely durable.

• Application: Filbert is a flat brush with the hair rounded into an oval at the tip. It is probably the most versatile of the brush shapes makes it a very popular and most artists working in oil or acrylic will certainly have a number of filberts. The main brush stroke produced is broad but with a soft, subtle top line allowing marks to instantly blend with previously laid down marks. Turned on its side, it can produce a thin line or, when swivelled in mid stroke, gives a tapered line. Used for oil painting and acrylic painting.
