Croquis is a French word, which can be understood as sketchy quick drawings. A croquis usually only takes a few minutes to complete. Practicing croquis helps the artist learn to focus on the important essential elements of the drawing (shape, posture, ..), instead of going into the details.

There are 2 different series: The Croquis S162 series contains 80 sheets of 60.0 gsm Maruman Cream Cotton Paper. Cream Cotton Paper is a woven paper ideal for soft-leaded pencils and for practicing line drawings. The soft paper allows for pressure control of bold or light lines, shading, etc. The paper's weave can be used as a grid to guide drawing. The cream color gives beautiful contrast to pencil lines. 10.7x15.3cm
The Croquis S163 series contains 55 sheets of 96.5 gsm Maruman Cream Cotton Paper. This high quality, long lasting alkaline paper is is durable and keeps its texture even with the use of erasers, pencil, and other drawing materials such as marker, inking, crayon and pastel. The woven felt surface gives drawings a natural, painted look. |
