The Natural Line has a special place in the Hahnemühle Digital FineArt Collection. It focuses on five FineArt inkjet papers made from unique raw materials: bamboo, hemp, agave and sugar cane. The plants that provide the cellulose require minimal maintenance, grow quickly and don’t need any pesticides. Their rapid growth means that more cellulose can be produced on the same cropland than with other raw materials, and they also require much less water, helping to save valuable resources and protect the environment.
Hahnemühle supports environmental and social projects at regional, national and international level with part of the proceeds from the Natural Line within its Green Rooster Initiative. All Natural Line papers are
- Vegan
- Resistant to ageing
- Acid-free
About Hahnemühle Bamboo Mix Media |
• Bamboo is a type of grass that can grow a meter per day. Its rapid growth rate allows some bamboo species to reach maturity in just three years. In comparison, forests can take a century to regrow after harvesting. Mature bamboo stands can be harvested annually, and because it's a grass, the bamboo culms will resprout, eliminating the need for replanting. It's estimated that 10,000 hectares of bamboo can provide 1,000,000 tons of raw fiber annually. This makes bamboo a sustainable alternative to wood pulp.
• Hahnemühle Bamboo Mix Media is a paper made from 90% bamboo fibers and 10% cotton fibers. It was the first paper introduced in the Natural Line. The paper has a natural white color and fine grain textured surface. It has excellent age resistance, suitable for all drawing media such as dry media (pencil, colored pencil, charcoal, pastel), inking, watercolor, gouache, acrylic, and more.
